Submit a preliminary application online (recommended)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Write down or print your pre-application number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Visit the ANTS (Agence Nationale des Titres S\u00e9curis\u00e9s) website: <strong><code><a href=\"https:\/\/passeport.ants.gouv.fr\/\">passeport.ants.gouv.fr\/<\/a><\/code><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fill out the CNI pre-application to simplify the process at the town hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CNI is free of charge, except in the event of loss or theft (in which case a \u20ac25 tax stamp must be purchased).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Gather supporting documents<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the day of the appointment, you must be present (including the minor and his or her legal guardian) with the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>CNI pre-application number (or the Cerfa paper form if you did not apply online).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recent passport photo (less than 6 months old) that complies with standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of address dated within the last year (utility bill, tax notice, rent receipt, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Old identity card (in case of renewal).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A \u20ac25 tax stamp if the previous card has been lost or stolen (otherwise it is free of charge).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any other documents specific to your situation (report of loss\/theft, documents for minors, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tip: City halls are very strict about the compliance of photos and supporting documents.
