To obtain a voter registration card, you must register on the electoral roll in your municipality of residence, in this case Cesseras.
In France, there are three ways to register, and it is free of charge. Once your registration has been validated, your voter registration card will be sent to you by mail before each election.
1. Registration requirements
To register, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be a French citizen (or a citizen of another European Union country for municipal and European elections).
- Be at least 18 years of age on the day before the election.
- Enjoy your civil and political rights.
- Have a connection with the municipality of Cesseras (have your primary residence there, pay certain local taxes there for at least two years, or be the manager of a company there).
2. Registration procedure
You can choose between three methods to submit your application:
| Method | Location | Documents to be provided |
| Online | On the official website Service-Public.fr | Scanned copies of the required documents: 1. Proof of identity (valid national identity card or passport). 2. Proof of address dated within the last three months proving your connection to Cesseras (e.g., electricity, water, or gas bill; rent receipt; tax notice). |
| At City Hall | Directly at the Town Hall of Cesseras | 1. Original ID. 2. Original proof of address dated within the last 3 months. 3. The Cerfa form no. 12669*02 (available on site or online), completed and signed. |
| By mail | Send your application to the Town Hall of Cesseras. | 1. The Cerfa form no. 12669*02, completed and signed. 2. Photocopy of an identity document. 3. Photocopy of proof of address dated within the last 3 months. |
Special case: Young adults
If you registered as a citizen at the age of 16, you will generally be automatically registered on the electoral roll for your place of residence when you turn 18.
You can check whether you are already registered on the Ministry of the Interior website: Check your electoral status.
When should I register?
Since the 2019 reform, registration is possible throughout the year. However, in order to be able to vote in a given election, registration must be validated before a deadline set by law (usually the sixth Friday before election day, but there are exceptions to this rule).
